Genesee Valley Region Membership Chair – Christine LeVey
This is my second year as RMC for Genesee Valley Region PTA. After 15 years of paid PTA membership with minimal activity, I jumped into a unit leadership role with my youngest child 5 years ago and I have relished every moment getting to know the school administrators, teachers, students, and parents on a more personal level. This is my 3rd year being involved at the Region level and I highly recommend unit leaders getting involved with their Region. I get to see a glimpse of what goes on at the State and National levels, and I have made some lasting friendships while witnessing the power of PTA advocacy.
I enjoy hearing from PTA units and sharing my knowledge about MemberHub or membership building strategies. There is so much greatness out there we never hear about – we all need to talk more and share ideas. COVID-19 has brought some challenges for activities this year but it has also introduced a lot of parents to PTA in my community as more people are home and available to log in for a virtual PTA meeting. Make the most of this home time and reach out to everyone in your community. We are stronger together. #PTAYourWay
